A big doff of the ol' cap to our founder, Tor McIntosh, who has been selected by Ordnance Survey (OS) to be one of their #GetOutside Champions.

A few months ago OS launched a campaign to find outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate and enthusiastic about Britain *tick*; love the great outdoors *tick*; and great at motivating others to get out there and enjoy it too *tick*. And from a big pile of applicants OS chose our Tor to be one of 15 #GetOutside Champions for 2016 (you can see a list of the other champs here). Over the coming months the #GetOutside Champions will be working with OS Ambassadors, Steve Backshall, Sean Conway and Bonita Norris, to inspire the nation to get off the sofa and get outside.

As a small adventure travel company whose foundation centres on unhurriedly exploring the great outdoors, we are big supporters of the #GetOutside campaign. With research undertaken by OS revealing that a quarter of Brits won’t walk anywhere for more than 15 minutes [Ed note: whaat!] the aim of the #GetOutside campaign is to inspire people from all walks of life and all ages and abilities just to spend a little more time outside their four walls, wherever they live.

So, before you pull on your wellies and waterproofs to brave the winter weather, why don't you follow Tor's lead and head to the OS website to make a #GetOutside pledge: ordnancesurvey.co.uk/getoutside.

See you out there...

My #GetOutside pledge is to walk all of the @swcoastpath. 155 miles done. 475 miles to go...
